The Boys Bowling program is led by Coach Nathan Clark. Meanwhile, the Girls Bowling program is led by Coach Dustin Peterson. In emails with both of the coaches, we were able to get some information on bowling for both boys and girls.

“Practice is at 6am Monday through Friday.” Coach Nathan Clark said. “Our first practice will be Nov 3rd.  We are still working on the time, but it will be 6am or 4pm. I will send more information later today.  Parent meeting, and some other info,” Coach Dustin Peterson said.

The first meets for the boys is on Tuesday, Nov. 25, when the Bobcats will be facing off against Waterloo East.

For the girls, their first meet is on Tuesday, Nov. 11, when they’ll be facing off against Newton. Both meets will be home games hosted at Marshalltown’s local bowling alley, Wayward Social. Practice for both teams will be hosted at Wayward Social.

“Pretty much my entire roster,” Coach Nathan Clark said when asked about who will be returning for the upcoming season with the boys.

When asked about who will be returning for the upcoming girls’ season, Coach Dustin Peterson listed these names:

Bailey Damman from the BCLUW high school in Conrad, Rose “Ray” Massa from West Marshall in State Center, Camillya Thomas from East Marshall in Le Grand, Ariana Villagomez and Aubrey Webber who are both from our own high school.

“I have one freshman that I know of. We would love to see some new faces give bowling a try.  No experience needed, just a good attitude and a willingness to try,” Coach Peterson said.

When asked about how Varsity and Junior Varsity are separated, Coach Nathan Clark had one word to say: “Skill.”

Here are a few other things Coach Clark responded to when asked about tournaments and meets: “There are a couple meets that are varsity only.” Coach Clark said when asked about the multiple meets missing from the Junior Varsity’s schedule.

When asked about whether tournaments are varsity only, Coach Clark replied with this: “All conference meets are both JV and varsity. There are additional tournaments that are varsity only and JV doesn’t bowl or travel.”

Signups for bowling are available now on Bound, the parent meeting was held on October 27th at 5:30 PM in the MHS Team Room.
