The Marshalltown Community School District (MCSD) Employee of the Quarter Award highlights individuals who exemplify excellence in service and attitude, positively impacting our students, staff, families, and the broader community. In the first quarter for the 2024-25 school year, we are proud to recognize Tanya Kenner at Rogers Elementary School with the Employee of the Quarter Award, whose dedication and positive influence have made a lasting impression.
"She is always organized with all the tasks that have been placed with her and is always willing to help out problem solve and quickly comes up with a resolution," said Susie Ridout, who nominated Kenner.

Why did you decide join the Marshalltown Community School District?
It gave me a way to be able to give back to the community by supporting education and student welfare.
What do you enjoy most about being a member of the Bobcat community?
I'd say that what I enjoy the most is the sense of belonging and camaraderie that comes with being part of such an amazing group.
What about your role at MCSD surprises you?
I quickly realized that the work I do is crucial to keeping everything running. Whether it’s assisting a teacher with a critical resource, ensuring a parent’s concern is addressed, or managing the flow of communication, an administrative assistant’s role directly impacts the success of the school’s day-to-day operations.
In your opinion, what makes Marshalltown Community School District special?
As a coach of the Dance Team, Marshalltown schools offer a variety of extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, arts, and music programs, which contribute to the overall development of students outside of academics.
What does it mean to you to be a Bobcat?
It’s about feeling a sense of pride in the district, knowing that everyone—teachers, students, parents, and community members—plays a role in creating a positive, supportive environment.
