Marshalltown High School girls’ golf coach Lucas Johnson was honored last Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union as the recipient of the 2025 Golden Plaque of Distinction. The award honors the Iowa coach who has demonstrated a successful career while making notable contributions toward the school, community, and coaching profession. Johnson has been the girls’ golf coach at Marshalltown for 13 seasons and is an English language art teacher at Miller Middle School.
